Advent Sunday 2021
On Advent Sunday, 28 November 2021, church bell towers, civic bell towers, and musical ensembles around Australia performed the medieval hymn Conditor alme siderum, to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the installation of the first mechanical musical clock to play a named tune at St Catherine’s Monastery in Rouen.

St John’s Anglican Church, Reid, ACT, rang the tune on their tower bells.
St Paul’s Anglican Church, Manuka, ACT, sang the hymn as part of choral evensong, and rang a quarter-peal on their tower bells to mark the occasion.
St Paul’s Anglican Church, Burwood, NSW, sang the hymn as part of their morning service.
Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Rosemeadow, NSW, rang the tune on their tower bells as the Call to Mass, and subsequently throughout the Advent season.
St Saviour’s Anglican Cathedral, Goulburn, NSW, rang a quarter-peal on their tower bells to mark the occasion.
St Paul’s Anglican Church, Maryborough, QLD, played the tune on their carillon bells.
St James Old Cathedral, Melbourne, VIC, rang the tune on their tower bells.
St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne, VIC, sang the hymn as part of choral evensong.
The Swan Bell Tower, Perth, WA, played the tune on their carillon bells, and the St Martin’s Society of Change Ringers played the tune on handbells at the Swan Bell Tower.
The members of Handbells in Peel performed the tune on handbells at a private event in Mandurah, WA.
St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, Perth, WA, played the tune on their carillon bells.
